Contract Dates: September 29, 2026– January 31, 2027
Hourly Rate: $35.00 – $45.00 / hour (Commensurate with experience)
Location: Tonopah, AZ (LOCAL CANDIDATES ONLY)
Work Schedule: Hybrid
Note on Schedule: Initial onboarding and training will be fully on-site. Following training, the schedule transitions to Remote on Tuesdays and Fridays, and On-Site on Wednesdays and Thursdays.
Job Overview
We are seeking a professional Local - Designer (Civil/Structural) - AutoCAD & MicroStation to support engineering and facility modifications at our Tonopah, AZ location. This role focuses on developing, reviewing, and modifying complex design systems, ensuring all configuration documents conform to appropriate parameters and ANSI codes.
Nuclear experience is NOT required. This is an excellent opportunity for a local industrial designer with strong MicroStation and AutoCAD skills to enter the energy sector and apply civil/structural design expertise to complex, large-scale projects at one of the nation's premier energy facilities.
Key Responsibilities
Design & Drafting: Utilize AutoCAD (ACAD) and MicroStation to execute detailed civil and structural design projects.
Package Preparation: Prepare and assist in the development of modifications for Plant Design Change Packages, Design Change Notices (DCNs), and Bills of Materials (BOM).
Data Integration: Gather, organize, and interpret engineering data from design documentation, applying knowledge of P&IDs, Isometrics, and flow diagrams to project deliverables.
Field & Quality Control: Participate in site walk-downs to verify field conditions and provide input for cost and material estimates.
Standards Compliance: Maintain rigorous technical accuracy regarding structural specifications, pipe specifications, and ANSI codes.

Core Requirements
Location & Commute: MUST BE A LOCAL CANDIDATE residing within commuting distance of Tonopah, AZ. No relocation assistance is provided.
Experience: 3–6 years of proven experience in a design environment, specifically within Civil or Structural disciplines.
Technical Expertise: Proficiency in both AutoCAD (ACAD) and MicroStation is required.
Education: High School Diploma or GED, complemented by at least two (2) years of college or technical school coursework in CADD or a related technical discipline (or equivalent experience).
Additional Assets We Value
Familiarity with ProjectWise for document management.
Strong interpersonal and professional communication skills within a standard Windows environment.
Nuclear experience is not required.
The ability to work independently on remote days while remaining highly collaborative with the engineering team during required on-site days.
