Our impressive client portfolio includes experience with over 90 Fortune 500 companies. We have developed testing, screening, personnel profiles, skill matching, software development, reporting and technology processes that put us above our competitors.

Our experience has prepared us to be an effective partner to our clients. Our knowledge of safety, labor agreements, and employment rules/regulations, together with strong labor analysis and reporting capabilities support our clients in achieving their business goals.

Unbeatable Industry Knowledge

For more than three decades, GD Barri has provided highly skilled labor solutions for a full range of disciplines to meet our client’s short-and long-term project and supplemental needs. We take pride in knowing the industries we work in like the back of our hands. GD Barri has provided services to over 53 nuclear and over 65 non-nuclear power plants across the country, and various DOE sites. Whether we are working with nuclear plants, alternative energy, universities, or national DOE sites, or other high-tech entities, you can trust GD Barri has your best interest at heart.

University Experience

We have provided personnel (e.g., professional, technical, and union craft) to supplement project needs and facility maintenance/modification for universities since 2002.

An exciting aspect of our work with universities has been the development of a program to provide qualified Elevator Mechanics through the International Union of Elevator Constructors (IUEC). This has led Barri to obtaining our license as a qualified contractor for elevator maintenance, modification, and inspection. If you too need a change in elevator maintenance support, contact Barri today to discuss your options.

Diversity & Inclusion

Diversity and inclusion are practices that we have always incorporated into all of our partnerships. As a 100% woman and minority owned enterprise, we believe in giving everyone a shot at success. Regardless, of age, race, gender, or other differentiating factors, it is our goal to ensure you feel welcomed and supported in all work conducted with GD Barri. In all our relationships, accountability and transparency are at the forefront.

Leadership Team

Meet the team behind GD Barri’s success!

Executive Leadership

Alexandria (Alex) Dorsey

President/CEO

Ms. Alexandria Dorsey began as CFO from startup and assumed ownership of GD Barri in 2018 after the unexpected passing of Barri's founder, Georgia D. Barri. Since assuming leadership, Ms. Dorsey has strived to continue Georgia’s path and legacy to keep Barri on the forefront of contract services, which is now a Minority Woman Owned Business Enterprise.

Prior to joining GD Barri, Alex worked with Georgia for eighteen months for a west coast contract engineering firm. Before that her experience includes eight years with a major Nuclear Utility in the Northeast, where she advanced from Accounting Clerk to Assistant Manager of Accounts Payable responsible for monitoring contracts with large A&E and Construction/Maintenance firms. Transference of the skills gained with the utility to the contract technical services industry makes her exceedingly sensitive to our client’s needs, with deep understanding of recruiting, client maintenance, financial and legal issues, procedure development, marketing and more. Her unique experiences and knowledge allow GD Barri to continue as a leader in contract technical services.

When there is such a thing as “spare time”, Alex enjoys sewing, DIY home improvement, cooking and staying sharply competitive with family game night and sudoku challenges.

Rick Duff

Senior Consultant

Mr. Duff’s professional career began in 1977 at Enrico Fermi II during construction of that facility. Since then, he has worked within the nuclear power industry in the areas of procurement, contract administration, and program management at over a dozen nuclear facilities. His involvement with supplemental labor spans over four decades while working directly for a national construction company, two nuclear utilities, two consulting companies, and finally, with GD Barri, since 1990. His unique perspective comes from working for both client and vendor organizations, working in union and non-union environments, and working in over forty states. His broad experience includes one-of-a-kind labor agreements and contracts that have altered the way supplemental labor is provided to clients experiencing economic and political pressures.

Rick currently serves as Senior Management Advisor, which means he is very much involved with Barri’s Executive and Senior Team, but he is no longer directing programs on a day-to-day basis. The last thirty-plus years with Barri has been rewarding, stressful and, most of all, interesting. His philosophy has been: “There are no shortcuts or magic systems, there is only hard work and perseverance”. He is proud to hand the reigns over to such a talented group of professionals.

Jeff Wenger

CFO

Jeff Wenger is responsible for all the company’s financial functions, including accounting, audit, treasury, and corporate finance. His career at GD Barri spans more than 28 years and has experience in financial management, business leadership and corporate strategy.

Prior to being named CFO in 2018, he played a key role in developing and implementing polices that have led to the company’s longevity and accomplishments. He is thrilled to be intricately involved in the company’s success and connecting with deserving job seekers and employers across the country.

Jeff enjoys traveling with his wife, cooking, and participating in marathons. Mr. Wenger earned a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration and Accounting degree from Bowling Green State University.

Michelle Manley

Vice President - Field Operations

Michelle brings a wealth of diverse experience and knowledge acquired from 17 years in higher education at a major university of South Florida to GD Barri. Michelle has over two decades of upper management experience, where she has led diverse teams in multiple disciplines for a wide variety of projects and programs. She was responsible for student development and the university’s response to managing student well-being across several college campuses. As the former Chief Judicial Officer, Michelle has experience in conflict resolution, investigating and responding to grievances. As the former director of student media, she was responsible for managing the universities public image across television, radio, and print media. These skillsets are all vital to the work GD Barri does in meeting the short- and long-term needs of both clients and associates. Michelle is excited to be a part of the GD Barri team and is looking forward to expanding our presence in the universities and with our veterans.

Michelle holds a Bachelor’s in Legal Studies, Master’s in Conflict Analysis and Resolution, and a Doctorate degree in Marriage and Family Therapy. In her free time, Michelle enjoys hiking, reading, running half marathons, and hanging out with family and friends.

Senior Management

Jim Springfield

Consultant

Jim holds an Associates of Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering and a Bachelor’s Degree in Organizational Management. A Navy veteran of the Vietnam War, Jim worked on A-7E as an electronics technician. After the Navy, Jim signed onto Tennessee Valley Authority as a nuclear operator and later an NRC licensed reactor operator at TVA’s Sequoyah Nuclear Plant. He worked at the plant for 15 years in various job assignments afforded to those in the operation department. This experience provided an opportunity for Jim to work closely with operations, licensing, engineering, and maintenance personnel.

During his time at TVA, Jim became active in the IBEW Local Union 721. He was elected in various local roles including Business Manager and President. With this, Jim was given the opportunity to serve on the Executive Board of the Tennessee AFL-CIO. Jim later served as an IBEW International Representative in the 10th District where he organized workers, serviced local unions, educated stewards and officers, arbitrated cases, and worked daily with the Tennessee Valley Building Trades for utility craft working in various sectors of the business. He remained in this role for almost 25 years, and brings a high degree of expertise to GD Barri.

Lisa Prestridge

Director of Nuclear Technical Services

Lisa Prestridge is the Director of Technical Services at GD Barri and has been with the company for over 15 years. During that time, she was a professional recruiter for engineering and maintenance positions for the Power and DOE industry nationally for multiple clients. From there, Lisa was promoted to Program Manager and again to Director of Technical Services. Along with recruiting for the nuclear, fossil and DOE industry, Lisa manages all Instrument and Controls work for Barri and works with the unions nationally. Over time she became the lead for all the I&C work at GD Barri. After relocating to Tennesse, she opened an Eastern regional office for GD Barri in Soddy Daisy to support the east coast efforts, where she currently works from. Lisa enjoys learning about the power industry, the plants and how they work, and helping others gain positions of employment within this industry.

On her off hours, Lisa enjoys kayaking, spending time with her husband, friends, and family, and creating art in her studio. She loves working for GD Barri and believes wholeheartedly in treating others as you would want to be treated.
