Job Description:
Minimum Requirements
·High school diploma or GED required
·Completion of two (2) years of college or technical school coursework in Computer-Aided Design and Drafting (CADD) or a related technical discipline (or equivalent experience)
·1–4 years of relevant design experience, depending on assignment level
·Strong written and verbal communication skills with effective interpersonal abilities
·Proficiency with PC-based applications in a Windows environment
·Ability to work effectively in a team environment
·Valid driver’s license required
Key Responsibilities
·Develop, revise, and maintain engineering drawings (electrical, mechanical, civil, and instrumentation) using CADD or manual drafting techniques
·Prepare supporting documentation such as layouts, schematics, wiring diagrams, block diagrams, bills of materials, requisitions, and work orders
·Gather, organize, and analyze engineering data to support design development
·Perform field investigations and site walk-downs to verify existing conditions and define design requirements
·Conduct basic engineering calculations and assist in studies required for design development
·Develop and assemble complete design packages for review, approval, and distribution
·Ensure all deliverables comply with applicable procedures, codes, standards, and regulatory requirements
·Maintain and update design configuration records and drawing files for accuracy and compliance
·Coordinate with engineers, designers, and field personnel to resolve design issues and support project execution
·Utilize applicable design systems, tools, and software effectively
·Support development of complex or multi-discipline design packages under engineering guidance
·Participate in constructability and design review efforts to support efficient project execution
·Maintain as-built drawings and standardized master drawing sets
·Coordinate across departments to support timely project completion and reduce duplication of effort
·Provide informal technical support or guidance to junior staff when applicable
·Assist with material and equipment specification, ordering, and tracking as required
·Identify opportunities for process improvement and support development of best practices
·Apply critical thinking to resolve design issues and improve project outcomes
