Job Description:
Summary
We are seeking Mechanical Engineers to support engineering activities related to plant systems, facility systems, and equipment modifications at a Nuclear Generating Station. This engineering role is ideal for candidates with a strong technical foundation who are eager to develop their skills while working under the guidance of experienced engineers on a variety of engineering projects.
The Mechanical Engineer will assist with the design, analysis, modification, and implementation of mechanical systems while ensuring compliance with applicable engineering standards, regulatory requirements, and safety practices.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform engineering assignments requiring the application of fundamental mechanical engineering principles.
- Support the design, development, modification, and implementation of plant, facility, and mechanical systems.
- Assist in evaluating engineering, technical, operational, and economic feasibility of proposed projects.
- Prepare engineering calculations, technical evaluations, and supporting documentation.
- Assist in the development of engineering studies, business cases, and project operating plans.
- Provide technical support for plant systems and engineering projects within assigned areas.
- Participate in troubleshooting equipment and system performance issues and recommend practical solutions.
- Assist with engineering change packages and design modifications.
- Review engineering drawings, specifications, and vendor documentation for technical accuracy.
- Ensure engineering work complies with applicable industry codes, standards, regulatory requirements, and company procedures.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Operations, Maintenance, Projects, and other Engineering disciplines.
- Support project planning, scheduling, and implementation activities.
- Maintain accurate engineering documentation and records.
Job Requirements:
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering from an accredited university.
- Knowledge of mechanical engineering principles, practices, and design methodologies.
- Must have Commercial Nuclear background
- Preferred 6-10 years of Mechanical Engineering experience, open to review less experience candidates.
- Standard Design Process ENG-001 is a PLUS
