Have a question? We have answers! See a list of questions frequently asked by job seekers below. If you can’t find what you’re looking for here, feel free to reach out directly.

It varies by job. You can ask your recruiter about the process and timeline for the specific job(s) to which you have applied.

After we receive your application, we will review your experience and skills. If your background aligns with our current needs, you will be contacted by phone or email by one of our recruiters to discuss opportunities for assignment. We also keep your resume in our system for consideration as future job opportunities arise.

Temporary workers are just that: temporary. Typically, a temporary worker takes an assignment in between jobs, and although both contract and temporary workers are both on termed assignments this is where the similarity ends. The contractor worker is generally considered more beneficial than a temporary worker. A contract worker is a consultant level candidate with above average skills and experience. The contractor can step into assignments and add value, not merely function in their role.

A contract position is typically a limited duration opportunity, often based around a project, which may range from several weeks to several months, although sometimes it can be several years. Contract work provides an excellent opportunity to gain additional experience, knowledge, skills, and gives you more control of your schedule.

A contract worker is a consultant level candidate with above average skills and experience. Because the contractor is exposed to many different environments and project scopes, it provides a breadth of experience it may not be possible to gain any other way. Many are particularly attracted to the flexibility to take an assignment or not, to change location or project scope, so this aspect can make this a very satisfying option for an individual.

Our primary client base is comprised of utilities and their larger scope contractors seeking support with engineering and skilled craft for operations, maintenance, and capital improvement projects. We also support universities and other industries where highly skilled professionals and craft are needed for facilities maintenance, capital improvements, programmatic upgrades, and cyber security.

There is never a cost, and we would caution anyone asked to pay for getting a job to look elsewhere.

Yes. All positions require successful passing of a background investigation and drug screening.

Many (but not all) assignments allow for per diem (and other associated travel costs) based upon the client’s program for eligibility and their willingness to incur that additional cost. Your recruiter will discuss those options with you prior to submitting you for the assignment so you can evaluate if the offer will meet your needs.

Many industries use contractors to supplement their human capital needs particularly for peak demands and/or projects. The key to successful utilization is to work with a contract company capable of identifying qualified professionals capable of integrating or operating independently within your organization without disrupting your existing workflows. Barri is such a contractor and will work with you and your leadership to identify and support your organizational needs!
