This position is for a TEC1 – Technical Writer which no longer exists in the catalog. Edit and maintain current system descriptions, reports, manuals, instruction books, and related technical and administrative documents supporting the PVGS Administrative Controls Program and Procedure Process. May interview production, maintenance, planning, engineering, and supervisory personnel. Organizes materials and completes writing assignments according to set standards regarding order, clarity, conciseness, style, and terminology. Must possess strong verbal communication skills. Proficiency in PC software applications including Adobe FrameMaker, Adobe Acrobat, and Microsoft Office strongly preferred. For positions at Palo Verde Nuclear Generating Stations (PVNGS) all openings will require applicants to be a U.S. person.
High school diploma/GED plus three (3) years in positions requiring the use of business process skills [i.e, technical writing, writing or defining policies/processes OR presently certified as a Writer by the Procedure Professionals Association (PPA)]. Must become qualified as a Procedure Preparer within three (3) months of assuming position.
Associates degree. Procedure Professionals’ Association (PPA) Writer certification. Technical Communicator skills. Experience in preparing descriptive copy using publishing tools, writer guidelines, and document verification. Experience using documentation publishing software. Proficient with Adobe FrameMaker, Adobe Acrobat, MS Word, MS Excel.
