(1) As directed and with close supervision, perform basic construction, maintenance and repair work on all various types of communications, networking, computing and telephony equipment.(2) Complete construction work assignments, which may include some review of delivered engineering to ensure functionality and maintainability is achieved. Installs new equipment, participates in shakedown testing, alignment, placing equipment into service, etc.(3) Ensure full compliance with all regulatory agencies. Produce reports and technical drawings for system documentation and maintain required recordkeeping.(4) May provide assistance to engineering personnel and manufacturer representatives in the evaluation and testing of new equipment, including the development/implementation of test procedures and/or the design and construction of specialized configurations.(5) Perform all work in a safe manner, appropriate to the work environment and conditions. Maintain full compliance with all safety policies, procedures and standards. Demonstrate and promote safe work practices, fully participating in departmental and company procedures.(6) Perform routine equipment maintenance and perform emergency repairs as needed and as directed.(7) Resolve minor failures and impairments in a timely, effective and efficient manner within all areas of the transport layer of the APS Enterprise Network. Adjust priorities with minimal notice.(8) Track and report progress on assignments. If solicited, provide information and/or produce reports to assist with project construction estimates. Produce damage assessment reports, repair actions and implementation results to ensure that user needs are met.MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:High School diploma or equivalent certificate of completion. Demonstrated basic proficiency in electric and/or electronic theory, along with a general knowledge of math and science necessary to support various radio, telephone and data communication systems. This position may require access to and/or use of information subject to control under the Department of Energy’s Part 810 Regulations (10 CFR Part 810), the Export Administration Regulations (EAR) (15 CFR Parts 730 through 774), or the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) (22 CFR Chapter I, Subchapter M Part 120) (collectively, “U.S. Export Control Laws”).
