Pay Rate: $53.00 per hour

Job Type: 12-Month Contract (with potential for extension)

Schedule: 40 hours/week. Initial 5-day onsite training period; transitioning to a hybrid 3-day onsite schedule once proficient.

Who We Are

Since 1989,  G.D. Barri & Associates, Inc.  has been a trusted strategic partner to utilities, universities, federal and state agencies, and prime contractors nationwide. With operations spanning 43 states, we’ve built a reputation for providing exceptional  craft, technical, management, and engineering support services  that drive success on mission-critical projects.

The Opportunity

We are seeking a high-caliber Project Manager II to lead critical 69kV and 12kV distribution projects. This role is perfect for a proactive leader who thrives on technical complexity and enjoys the "ownership" phase of project management—from initial GIS planning to final cost variance analysis. You will be the bridge between technical engineering teams and corporate stakeholders, ensuring our infrastructure remains reliable and efficient.

Core Responsibilities

  • Project Leadership: Manage the full lifecycle of 69kV and 12kV distribution projects, including oversight of distribution protection equipment.
  • Systems Management: Utilize Maximo for asset management and ESRI GIS for precise project planning and cross-team coordination.
  • Scheduling & Controls: Create and maintain rigorous project schedules using Microsoft Project or Primavera P6.
  • Financial Oversight: Manage project costs, report on actuals, and perform detailed variance analysis to keep projects on budget.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Present complex technical updates to diverse audiences and build strong relationships across cross-functional teams.

Job Requirements:

What You Bring to the Table

  • Certification: Active PMP Certification is required.
  • Technical Expertise: Proven experience in utility distribution (specifically 69kV/12kV) and protection equipment.
  • Software Proficiency: Power-user status in Maximo (or similar asset management tools) and ESRI GIS.
  • Analytical Rigor: A "no-stone-unturned" approach to cost management and organizational prioritization.
  • Communication Style: Ability to lead with clarity, solve problems proactively, and maintain a high sense of accountability.

Work Environment & Schedule

  • Training Phase: To ensure your success, you will work onsite 5 days a week at our Deer Valley (Phoenix) or Prescott offices until fully proficient.
  • Hybrid Phase: Once cleared by leadership, you will transition to a hybrid schedule (typically 3 days onsite), with flexibility required for in-person meetings or field responsibilities.

Why Apply?

This is a long-term opportunity to work on high-visibility infrastructure projects in Arizona. If you are a detail-oriented PM who enjoys the intersection of engineering and strategy, we want to hear from you.
