Job Description:

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Nuclear Design Engineer to join our innovative team dedicated to advancing nuclear technology and safety. In this role, you will lead complex system design projects, develop detailed engineering analyses, and collaborate across multidisciplinary teams to ensure the integrity and efficiency of nuclear systems. Your expertise will be instrumental in designing safe, reliable, and efficient nuclear facilities, with a focus on radioactive waste management, system integration, and quality assurance. The ideal candidate will possess a strong foundation in mechanical and systems engineering principles, combined with hands-on laboratory experience and proficiency in programming languages such as Python, C++, and Fortran.

  • Lead the design and analysis of nuclear systems, ensuring compliance with safety standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Develop detailed system models using advanced engineering tools and programming languages including Python, C++, and Fortran.
  • Collaborate with manufacturing teams to optimize mechanical components and ensure manufacturability within project specifications.
  • Conduct mechanical analysis, including stress testing, thermal modeling, and failure mode assessments for nuclear components.
  • Support radioactive waste handling procedures by designing containment systems and evaluating long-term storage solutions.
  • Oversee quality assurance processes throughout the design lifecycle to maintain high standards of safety and reliability.
  • Perform laboratory experiments to validate design concepts, material properties, and system performance.
  • Utilize distributed control systems knowledge to enhance automation and control strategies within nuclear facilities.
  • Prepare comprehensive technical documentation, reports, and manuals to facilitate clear communication with stakeholders.
  • Engage in systems engineering activities to integrate various subsystems into cohesive operational frameworks.

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Nuclear Engineering, Systems Engineering, or a related field; advanced degrees preferred.
  • Extensive experience in construction projects related to nuclear facilities or systems design.
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, C++, Fortran for simulation and analysis tasks.
  • Strong understanding of mechanical principles applied within the context of nuclear systems and radioactive waste management.
  • Hands-on laboratory experience with testing equipment, material characterization, or prototype development.
  • Knowledge of distributed control systems used in nuclear plant automation.
  • Familiarity with manufacturing processes relevant to nuclear component fabrication.
  • Excellent analysis skills with the ability to interpret complex data sets accurately.
  • Experience with quality assurance protocols specific to nuclear engineering projects.
  • Strong technical writing skills for preparing detailed reports and documentation.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams across different engineering domains. If you are committed to advancing nuclear safety through innovative design solutions and possess the technical expertise outlined above, we encourage you to apply for this vital role. Join us in shaping the future of sustainable energy technology through precision engineering and rigorous safety standards.
