With ongoing supervision, assists or conducts a variety of basic financial analysis projects or functions. Performs a variety of routine research and studies on topics that may include rates of return, working capital, investments, cost analysis, budgeting, forecasting, financial modeling, corporate finance, cash management, financial targets and financial and expense comparisons. Prepares routine reports of findings and recommendations to more senior financial analysts or appropriate Manager. Supports strategic planning and analysis. Contacts are primarily with immediate supervisor and other personnel in the section or group. Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting or an equivalent combination of education and experience from which comparable knowledge, skills and abilities have been achieved. MBA, MS in Finance or CPA certification preferred. Basic knowledge of finance or economic analysis, Generally Accepted Accounting Principles and income tax laws. Good research and effective communication skills a must. Good word processing and spreadsheet skills. Time constraints, scope and complexity are commensurate with the beginning level. This position may require access to and/or use of information subject to control under the Department of Energy’s Part 810 Regulations (10 CFR Part 810), the Export Administration Regulations (EAR) (15 CFR Parts 730 through 774), or the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) (22 CFR Chapter I, Subchapter M Part 120) (collectively, “U.S. Export Control Laws”).
